Galapagar Celebrates 2026 Patron Saint Festivities with Bustamante and Orquesta Panorama

The municipality of Galapagar has designed a program of activities including national artist concerts, sports events, and religious ceremonies in honor of the Santísimo Cristo de las Mercedes.

Galapagar is preparing to celebrate its 2026 Patron Saint Festivities in honor of the Santísimo Cristo de las Mercedes, which will take place from September 10 to 14 with an extensive program of activities.

The Galapagar City Council has organized a varied program that includes performances by national artists such as David Bustamante, Isabel Aaiún, and the Orquesta Panorama, in addition to a wide range of sports activities and religious ceremonies.
Events will kick off on September 1 with the Cornhole Tournament and the start of the Social Tennis Tournament. Sports activities will continue on September 3 and 5 with championships in Petanca, Padel, the XXII Pepe Gómez Memorial-Schools Trophy, archery tournaments, and the traditional game of chito.
September 5 will also host the LOS40 Urban Party festival in the Plaza de la Constitución, featuring performances by JOL and TATE. On Sunday, September 6, the IV Sergio Martín Cadet Cycling Grand Prix, the XXXIX Regional Chito Tournament for Pairs, the XXVIII Bicycle Festival, and the Festival for Our Seniors will be held.
The Patron Saint Festivities will officially commence on Thursday, September 10, with the Holi Festival and the Peñas Parade. The opening speech will be delivered by Galapagar swimmer Camino Martínez. The evening will continue with DJ sets and a concert by the Orquesta Panorama at the fairgrounds.
The weekend of September 11-13 will be marked by concerts by Isabel Aaiún (Friday 11), David Bustamante (Saturday 12), and tributes to Extremoduro and Marea (Sunday 13) in the Plaza de la Constitución. Sunday the 13th will also feature workshops, inflatables, and a children's musical show with Pica-Pica.
On Monday, September 14, Children's Day, fairground attractions will offer a 50% discount. The day will conclude with a concert by the Orquesta Diamante and the traditional fireworks display.
Religious events include the Offering of Flowers and Fruits on Sunday the 13th and the Solemn Mass and procession on Monday the 14th. The bullfighting program will feature morning bull runs and a children's bull parade.
