The company, which has been providing these services in the municipality since 2005, will manage the new agreements for twelve years for waste collection and street cleaning, and five years for park and garden maintenance. Approximately 90 professionals will attend to the needs of a population exceeding 37,000 inhabitants.
Sustainability will be a central focus, with the incorporation of over 50 new vehicles and machines, many of them electric, and the electrification of a significant portion of existing machinery. These measures aim to reduce polluting emissions and protect the municipality's urban and natural environment.
VISION, FCC Medio Ambiente's integrated management digital platform, will be implemented to optimize routes, supervise tasks, monitor vehicles, and analyze real-time waste generation, thereby improving communication between municipal services and citizens.
Regarding waste collection, nearly 20,000 tons annually will be managed with 15 new vehicles. A bilateral loading collection system will be introduced, replacing the current side-loading model, and approximately 1,200 containers will be renewed. A door-to-door collection service for pruning waste for individuals will also be launched. The recycling points will be enhanced with a mobile unit and three proximity points.
The street cleaning service will feature 34 new vehicles and machines, with 60 percent being electric and Zero Emission. 400 litter bins will be replaced, and a grass dehydrator will be incorporated to improve maintenance efficiency.
In green spaces, FCC Medio Ambiente will maintain nearly 300,000 square meters of parks and gardens and care for 6,140 trees, in addition to maintaining children's play areas and sports circuits, and developing urban tree management and pest control plans.
The contract also includes an annual citizen communication and awareness plan to foster resident participation in the care and maintenance of the municipality's public spaces.
