In May 2026, the number of job seekers in Collado Villalba stood at 3,133 people. This represents a decrease of 41 unemployed individuals compared to the previous month and an annual reduction of 97 people, signifying a 3% drop compared to May 2025.
Unemployment disproportionately affects individuals over 45 years old, who constitute 59.1% of the total registered unemployed. The 25 to 44 age group accounts for 35%, while young people under 25 represent 5.8%. By gender, women continue to be the majority among the unemployed (58.5%), although the gap with men (41.4%) has narrowed by two percentage points in the last month.
The services sector accounts for the largest share of unemployment, holding 81.2% of job seekers. It is followed, at a considerable distance, by the construction sector with 7.4%.
The City Council of Collado Villalba has a Municipal Employment Agency, a free public service that acts as an intermediary between the unemployed and companies needing qualified personnel.
These positive figures coincide with the celebration of the XII VillalbaEmplea 2026 Employment Fair, organized by the Employment and Local Development Area on May 26th. The event saw the participation of over 20 companies that jointly offered more than 200 job positions, facilitating direct submission of resumes by attendees.
