This program, now in its seventh year, offers children and adolescents residing in centers within the Community of Madrid the opportunity to spend the school year with a foster family. Each year, around 40 minors from children's residences across the community participate in this initiative. The Nuestra Señora de Lourdes residence in Torrelodones has contributed the most children to the program.
Informational talks for interested families began on September 1st and are conducted online. The next sessions will be held on Thursday, September 2nd at 8:00 PM, Monday, September 7th at 10:00 AM, and Thursday, October 1st at 8:00 PM.
Registration for the program is open. Prospective foster families must reside in the Community of Madrid, La Rioja, or Galicia. Although designed for a full academic year stay, children can be hosted until June at any point during the year, while maintaining their educational center and visits with their biological family.
Families who decide to foster will receive support from other families, as well as from the educational team of the foster care center.
