The bridge over the A-6 in the Los Delfines urbanization of Collado Villalba, which has undergone significant improvement works, is set to reopen to traffic in June, following an 832,803 euro investment aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety and accessibility.

The Government Delegate of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, has overseen the improvement works on the overpass at kilometer 38.6 of the A-6, within the municipality of Collado Villalba. This project, with a budget of 832,803 euros, is funded by European funds under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and is expected to be completed by June. The enhancements include wider sidewalks, better separation from the roadway, and a significant increase in lighting throughout the area.
The intervention, carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, aims to create an accessible pedestrian route to various establishments and homes located on the north service road (towards Coruña). This access is facilitated from both the urban center of Collado Villalba (Honorio Lozano avenue) and the south service road (towards Madrid).
This project is part of other investments by the Spanish Government in the A-6 area, totaling nearly 40 million euros, dedicated to improving the safety, mobility, and comfort of residents in Collado Villalba and nearby municipalities such as Torrelodones and Las Rozas. Specific improvements include widening the sidewalk on the Madrid side, implementing a new traffic-light-controlled pedestrian crossing, new lighting on the road connecting Honorio Lozano avenue with the north service road, and new containment systems.

"I regret that she does not want to come and acknowledge the efforts of the Government of Spain with the municipality of Collado Villalba and the entire area. We will continue working. We are not at all interested in controversy, but rather in work and solutions for the benefit of the residents of this municipality and the entire Community of Madrid. Therefore, if they do not want to participate, if they do not want to make it visible, if they want to continue with that policy of denial and concealment, then that is up to them."

Francisco Martín · Government Delegate of Spain in the Community of Madrid
Martín's visit was attended by the head of the Madrid Road Demarcation, Gloria Ramos, and the Councilor for Public Works of the Collado Villalba City Council, Ramón Pavón. The latter apologized for the absence of the mayor, Mariola Vargas, and criticized the short notice of the summons, calling it a "lack of institutional respect" and lamenting the slow response to municipal requests regarding infrastructure.

"This is not a simple scheduling problem. This is a way of acting typical of Pedro Sánchez's Government: opaque, disloyal, and based on political calculation. Giving less than 24 hours' notice is not a mistake; it is a strategy to sideline those who govern Collado Villalba and turn an institutional visit into a propaganda act."

Popular Party of Collado Villalba · Statement
The Popular Party of Collado Villalba, in a statement, denounced that the less-than-24-hour notice was a strategy to exclude the local government and turn the visit into a propaganda event. The Popular Party also demanded immediate action on the Puente de la Estación (Station Bridge), a state-owned infrastructure that, according to them, has been deteriorating for years without intervention from the Executive, despite the Justice system having ruled that its maintenance is the responsibility of ADIF.
