This program, promoted by the Community of Madrid, envisions the construction of 40 residences and 40 day centers across the region. Tres Cantos is among the 18 municipalities chosen outside the capital to develop these facilities, which seek to expand the care network through a combination of public and private investment.
The 'Plan 40-40' primarily aims to create 6,000 residential places and 2,000 places for day care. Of this total, at least 3,200 places will be integrated into the public network, while the remainder will correspond to private centers accessible through a service voucher system.
“"This model seeks to increase the care offering through public-private collaboration, facilitating the construction and management of new centers."
In addition to Tres Cantos, the plan includes actions in other municipalities such as Alcobendas, Leganés, Móstoles, and Alcalá de Henares, as well as in various districts of Madrid city. The planned residences will have a limited size, with a maximum of 150 places, and at least half of the rooms will be individual, ensuring greater privacy for users.
The program incorporates residential formulas adapted for seniors with varying levels of dependency, including adapted housing for users with mild or moderate dependency. These spaces will offer services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and home care. A notable innovation is the integration of nursery schools in some complexes to foster intergenerational coexistence, alongside technological solutions to enhance care.
