More than 70 shops in Tres Cantos have joined the 'Tres Cantos and its shops take care of you' campaign, promoted by the Department of Commerce, to offer free phone calls to children and adolescents who need to contact their families.

The initiative allows minors without access to a mobile phone to make a free call from any of the participating businesses. The network, which already includes over 70 establishments from various sectors such as pharmacies, bookstores, bakeries, hairdressers, and bars, remains open to new participants.
Participating establishments are identified by a visible sticker on their shop window, indicating they are a support point for young people to contact their parents or guardians in everyday situations, such as notifying about delays, minor unforeseen events, or when their mobile phone runs out of battery. This measure also serves as an alternative for families who prefer to delay their children's access to smartphones.

"It is a close, accessible, and safe resource for the municipality's minors, which also offers great peace of mind to families and a secure alternative to delay the age of smartphone access. Likewise, it is an excellent way to reinforce the role of local commerce as a true space of trust and closeness, as young people will be able to communicate with their parents or guardians when they deem it necessary."

The Councilor for Commerce · María José Beltrán
The campaign stands out for the diversity of its participants, integrating businesses from very different profiles to ensure the presence of these support points in various areas of the municipality and in everyday use sectors. The Department of Commerce has highlighted the commitment of the local commercial fabric to families and the city, reinforcing the role of shops as spaces of trust and closeness.
Participation in the campaign remains open for any establishment in Tres Cantos wishing to join, by contacting the Department of Commerce. The updated list of participating shops can be consulted on the municipal platform ‘Todo está en Tres Cantos’.
