Nine public schools in Tres Cantos will receive significant improvements thanks to a new regional funding line, totaling almost 4 million euros in total investment this summer.

The nine public educational centers in Tres Cantos will benefit from improvement works thanks to a new funding line from the Community of Madrid. The total investment for this summer in the city's schools amounts to nearly 4 million euros, of which 900,000 euros come from the Regional Investment Program (PIR).
This regional funding complements the annual investment that the local administration makes with its own resources, aiming to enhance the usual summer renovations. The main novelty this year is the installation of air conditioning systems in classrooms, dining halls, gyms, and other spaces, with a budget of 400,000 euros focused on energy efficiency criteria.
The regional program sets a limit of 100,000 euros per school. This amount can be used not only for air conditioning but also for other renovations such as roof and facade repairs, patio renewal, elimination of architectural barriers, or general facility modernization, allowing each center to address pending reforms.
Specific works vary by center. The CEIP Carmen Hernández Guarch will feature new recreational areas, the CEIP Ciudad de Columbia will improve its dining hall, and the CEIP Gabriel García Márquez will have its eaves repaired. The CEIP Miguel de Cervantes will undertake more extensive works, including the renovation of play areas and drainage improvements.
Other actions include the renovation of the multipurpose room at CEIP Aldebarán, roof and sports court repairs at CEIP Carmen Iglesias, patio naturalization at CEIP Ciudad de Nejapa, bathroom renewal at CEIP Tierno Galván, and a complete renovation of the gym at CEIP Antonio Osuna.

"Education is a priority for this municipal government, and we want our schools to offer the best possible conditions for learning and teaching."

Jesús Moreno · Mayor of Tres Cantos

"this new line of the Regional Investment Program 'will allow us to incorporate air conditioning systems in various educational centers and continue improving facilities that are fundamental for the families of Tres Cantos'."

Jesús Moreno · Mayor of Tres Cantos
The Mayor of Tres Cantos, Jesús Moreno, highlighted the importance of this investment in providing the best educational conditions. He thanked the Community of Madrid for its support, noting that these funds complement the municipal investment efforts.
The total investment in Tres Cantos' public schools nears 4 million euros, combining the 900,000 euros from the new allocation with the approximately 3 million euros invested from own funds. These works cover roof renewals, electrical installations, carpentry, patios, sports courts, sanitation systems, accessibility, and energy efficiency, aiming for more modern and safer centers for the new school year.
