A 56-year-old man was seriously injured this Friday after a spectacular traffic accident at the intersection of Paseo de la Castellana and Génova street, near Plaza de Colón, in Madrid.

The incident occurred around 10:15 AM in a traffic light-controlled area. The motorcycle rider was thrown off as a result of the strong impact and suffered severe cervical trauma.
SAMUR-Protección Civil emergency teams quickly responded to the scene, stabilized the injured man, and urgently transported him to Hospital Clínico San Carlos, where he was admitted in serious condition.
The Madrid Municipal Police attended to secure the area, manage traffic, and facilitate the emergency services' work. The accident investigation unit is looking into the causes to determine the dynamics and responsibilities.
