The Tres Cantos City Council has renewed its annual agreement with the AMI-3 association, allocating 60,000 euros to ensure specialized services for early care, personal autonomy, and family support for individuals with intellectual disabilities in the municipality.

This collaboration, formalized in Tres Cantos, is crucial to ensure that no resident with an intellectual disability is left behind. Mayor Jesús Moreno met with representatives of the entity and with users like Cristina Vicario, highlighting the project's importance for equal opportunities.
The 60,000 euro investment aims to offer families in Tres Cantos a point of reference for guidance, professional assistance, and a safe environment where their children and relatives can fully develop. The aid is materialized in three key areas that cover vital needs from childhood to adulthood.
The first pillar is the Early Care Center, which provides physiotherapy, psychomotor, and speech therapy treatments. These services are crucial for the development of children who require support in their early stages. Additionally, the independent living program promotes the autonomy of adults with disabilities, facilitating their active participation in society and the enjoyment of inclusive leisure activities.

"It reaffirms the City Council's commitment to a more inclusive society, where all people have the same opportunities for personal and social development, as do their families."

Furthermore, the initiative focuses on the well-being of caregivers, providing training and emotional support. This assistance is vital for parents and siblings, who find in the association a resource for legal queries or coexistence issues. The agreement will be in effect until June 2026.
The Councilor for Family and Equality, Sonia Lolo, emphasized that this agreement is an essential tool to consolidate resources and expand the reach of services that accompany people with disabilities throughout all stages of their lives. AMI-3's services are open to any person with a disability in the municipality, whether a member or not, ensuring that public funds reach those who need them without administrative barriers.
