The Municipal Theater will be the hub for cinema, showcasing the 32 finalist works of the V Short Film Contest. Screenings will take place on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11, between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite short film, determining the Audience Award.
Among the selected short films are titles such as Matrioska, Insalvable, Un Día Perfecto, La Biblioteca, Eixam, Faustino, Montecarlo 67, and Sexo a los 70, reflecting the diversity of the current short film landscape.
Concurrently, the Adolfo Suárez Cultural Center will inaugurate the exhibition Hollywood Treasures in its Baluarte hall. This exhibition displays original film props and items autographed by figures such as Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stallone, John Travolta, and Tom Hanks. The exhibition will be open to the public until June 14.
The artistic offerings are expanded with other exhibitions. The Pedro Navares hall presents Everyday Stories by photographer Cecilia Ruth, a visual journey through daily life scenes captured between 2023 and 2025 in various countries. In the Gutiérrez Montiel hall, Pedro Herráiz exhibits Imagine Brands, a proposal exploring the relationship between art and consumption through fictional brands made from cardboard. Finally, the Van Drell hall hosts Surrealisms, an exhibition dedicated to Óscar Domínguez, which includes the series Domaine and Poésie et vérité, created during World War II. These exhibitions can be visited until the end of April.
On Friday, the Vértice Youth Center will offer an urban dance masterclass starting at 6:00 PM, alongside regular recreational activities. On Saturday morning, the same venue will host the Street Art Space from 10:00 AM, aimed at young people interested in urban art. On the same day, the Autism Walk will depart from the Town Hall Square at 11:00 AM, covering four kilometers. Simultaneously, Antonio Gala Square will host an inclusive sports day open to all ages.
On Sunday, April 12, the La Luz Sports Center will be the venue for the Let’s Move Madrid championship, bringing together over 1,500 dancers and nearly 3,000 attendees. The event is organized by the Circo Diverso Association and the Let’s Move Studio, with municipal support. The Sunday program will conclude with a poetic recital accompanied by flamenco guitar at the Municipal Auditorium, featuring Mercedes de la Rosa, Gregorio Zarzalejo, and Alejandro Sánchez Medina. The weekend will close with the concert Primavera entre cantos, at 7:00 PM in the Municipal Theater, performed by the Tres Cantos City Choir, commemorating the municipality's 35th anniversary.
