San Sebastián de los Reyes is set to host the third edition of the Folklóricas festival on August 22nd and 23rd, offering free programming in the Plaza de la Constitución that fuses traditional folklore with contemporary electronic sounds.

The Folklóricas festival, in its third edition, will transform San Sebastián de los Reyes into an epicenter of sonic avant-garde on August 22nd and 23rd. The Plaza de la Constitución will be the stage for free programming that seeks to bridge traditional folklore and the boldest electronic music.
The event consolidates itself as a space for experimentation where roots music dialogues with contemporary sounds. Over two days, innovative proposals will be presented, reinterpreting intangible heritage through sonic research and collective celebration. The City Council promotes this initiative to democratize access to quality culture, with sponsorship from Música Creativa.
On Thursday, August 22nd, starting at 9:00 PM, the festival will kick off with the performance by Omiri, a Portuguese project presenting their audiovisual show Modas Novas e Algumas Velhas, blending field recordings, improvisation, and electronic beats. At 11:00 PM, Galician artist Mercedes Peón will take the stage with her show Ingrávida, accompanied by 17 women, including the groups Pandereteiras Raigañas and Xirifeiras, as well as talents like Mónica de Nut and Ana Fernández.
On Friday, August 23rd, the duo Delameseta will explore the fusion of Castilian and Leonese folklore with urban rhythms and cutting-edge electronics starting at 9:00 PM. The multicultural closing will arrive at 10:30 PM with the collective Ethno Spain and their production Raíces sin fronteras, an intercultural 'big band' featuring around thirty young virtuoso musicians from over fifteen different countries.
