The festival will take place in the Plaza de la Constitución and will feature four shows that reinterpret folklore through current languages, including electronic music, sonic experimentation, and tradition. Artists from Portugal, Galicia, Castilla y León, and other countries will participate.
The first day, Saturday August 22nd, will kick off at 9:00 PM with Portuguese artist Omiri and his audiovisual project Modas Novas e Algumas Velhas, blending popular sounds with electronic beats. At 11:00 PM, Galician composer Mercedes Peón will present her show Ingrávida, accompanied by a formation of up to 17 artists.
On Sunday August 23rd, electronic music will join Castilian folklore with Delameseta at 9:00 PM. The duo from Valladolid will integrate urban rhythms and traditional elements like tambourines and synthesizers. The festival will conclude at 10:30 PM with Raíces sin fronteras by Ethno Spain, an international gathering of young musicians.
Folklóricas 2026 aims to explore the connection between tradition and innovation, bringing together proposals ranging from sonic research to cultural diversity. All performances are free to attend.
