The initiative targets urban areas with the highest waste accumulation, particularly those near commercial and hospitality establishments. The main objective is to optimize urban hygiene and ensure the proper functioning of these infrastructures.
The work is being carried out during the summer period, when there is less pedestrian and vehicle traffic, allowing tasks to be completed with minimal disruption to citizens.
The campaign includes the complete extraction of each container for cleaning with soap and water, disinfection of the pit, and inspection of mechanical systems, such as pulleys, to ensure their operability. This preventive action aims to improve hygienic conditions and extend the lifespan of the facilities.
Priority areas include those with higher waste generation during the summer, such as streets like Yelmo, México, Neptuno, Comunidad Valenciana, Andalucía, and Bolillero, as well as avenues like Colmenar Viejo and España. These areas are considered key due to their high commercial and hospitality activity and the increased risk of odors from high temperatures.
This campaign complements other intensive cleaning efforts planned for the summer, including the conditioning of parking areas and the cleaning of major thoroughfares such as avenues Colmenar Viejo and Viñuelas, as well as urban furniture and main pedestrian and traffic routes.
