The city of Tres Cantos welcomes September with a diverse program of activities spanning leisure, sports, culture, and the environment. The Far West Market, transforming the Plaza de la Familia into a Wild West town, and the VIII Night Race are the main events of the weekend.
The Far West Market will be open from Friday to Sunday, offering shows, music, themed characters, an artisan village, an exhibition of Western tools, and a children's area. The opening is on Friday at 18:30 with a parade, followed by Wild West music and performances like 'El charlatán del Oeste'. Saturday and Sunday will continue with activities, including shows such as 'Forajidos de leyenda', 'El tahúr', '¡Por favor, no maten al pianista!', 'The Mountain Family', 'El Duelo O.K. Corral', 'Jeremías el predicador', and 'El enterrador', as well as a Country Dance Space hosted by the local group Tres Cantos Country.
Sports will take center stage on Saturday with the VIII Night Race, covering 7 kilometers through the city starting at 21:15. The start and finish lines will be located around the Polideportivo de La Luz. Participants will receive reflective wristbands for this nighttime event.
Additionally, Saturday will feature the Sport and Disability day at the sports courts of CEIP Ciudad de Nejapa (11:00-13:00), offering adapted sports modalities for all ages and a charity raffle. In parallel, the Aula de Medio Ambiente Las Vaquerizas will host the family activity '¡Vuelta al cole con el Aula de las Vaquerizas!', where school organizers will be made using recycled materials in two sessions for different age groups.
The cultural offerings are rounded out by an English storytelling session, 'The Magic Machine', featuring Mike and a magical machine, at the Biblioteca Municipal Lope de Vega on Saturday from 11:00 to 11:45, recommended for ages six and up. The Sala Pedro Navares at the Centro Cultural Adolfo Suárez will inaugurate an exhibition by the Asociación Fotográfica f22 on Friday at 19:00, showcasing 40 award-winning and finalist photographs from the IX Photography Contest City of Tres Cantos. The same cultural center also presents new exhibitions by the Asociación de Pintores de Tres Cantos and the Asociación de Grabadores de Tres Cantos Tarlatana.
