The initiative aims to fund conservation and modernization actions in municipal schools, with a maximum of 100,000 euros per school.
The project includes the installation of new air conditioning systems in classrooms, dining halls, and gyms, prioritizing energy efficiency to ensure adequate learning environments and adapt buildings to an "increasingly demanding climatic reality".
The remaining funds will be used for specific actions based on the detected needs of each center, such as creating new recreational areas, improving dining halls, repairing eaves, replacing sand with rubber in play areas, renovating classrooms, and naturalizing patios.
Specifically, the CEIP Carmen Hernández Guarch will create new recreational areas; CEIP Ciudad de Columbia will improve dining halls; CEIP Gabriel García Márquez will repair eaves; CEIP Miguel de Cervantes will renovate play areas with rubber and grass; CEIP Aldebarán will reform its multipurpose room; CEIP Carmen Iglesias will repair its roof and sports court; and CEIP Ciudad de Nejapa will naturalize its patio.
Furthermore, the bathrooms at CEIP Tierno Galván will be renovated, and the gymnasium at CEIP Antonio Osuna will be updated, including improvements to flooring, windows, and the air conditioning system.
This 900,000 euro investment is in addition to the nearly 3 million euros the City Council is already investing this summer in school conservation and improvement as part of its annual plan.
