The initiative, promoted by the Department of Commerce, aims to offer families an accessible and local resource. This network, named “Tres Cantos and its businesses care for you,” already includes sixty participating establishments across various areas of the city.
Participating businesses cover a wide range of sectors, including services, hospitality, bookstores, pharmacies, opticians, and bakeries. All are strategically distributed throughout the municipality to ensure effective coverage.
Each establishment displays an identifiable sticker visible from the outside, making it easy for minors to recognize where they can seek help. This system allows them to contact their families in everyday situations like delays or unforeseen events, even if they do not have a mobile phone.
“"The initiative does not imply additional responsibilities for the establishments, which do not assume custody duties or manage personal data. Their participation is limited to providing timely support while maintaining their usual activity."
The network operates simply: businesses offer the possibility of making a brief call when a minor needs it, which can be useful for communicating minor incidents or resolving situations like a dead phone battery. The City Council views this network as a preventive and community measure that contributes to family safety and strengthens the local commercial fabric. The campaign remains open to new additions to expand the number of establishments and consolidate the project in the city.
