The city of Tres Cantos is hosting the 2026 edition of its Health Week until next May 24. This municipal initiative has organized around twenty activities designed to foster healthy lifestyles and improve residents' quality of life. The events will take place in various locations throughout the municipality, catering to a wide range of the population.
The program combines practical workshops, informative talks, training sessions, and outdoor activities, aiming to bring health prevention and care closer to citizens from a comprehensive perspective. The agenda includes sessions on oral health, breastfeeding, addiction prevention, as well as training on using the health center and mobile health applications.
The Health Week kicked off on May 18 with a blood donation drive organized by the Red Cross on Avenida de Colmenar Viejo. The 'I Know My Dentist' workshop was also held, focusing on helping children with autism spectrum disorder adapt to dental appointments. For the week's closing on May 24, outdoor activities such as the Healthy Walk through Parque Central, Nordic Walking, and the Escleromarcha are scheduled.
As a new feature for the 2026 edition, thematic axes focusing on innovation, technological development, and artificial intelligence applied to healthcare have been introduced. The Municipal Auditorium hosted a session on artificial intelligence and well-being, where industry professionals discussed its use as complementary emotional support to traditional therapies. This event also featured the presentation of Repsol's SaludIA Project and a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities of these technologies.
The program also includes the second Intersectoral Health Table, a participatory body bringing together municipal health agents to analyze needs and coordinate resources. Furthermore, on May 23, the second Health and Well-being for Businesses Day will take place at the Centro Cultural Adolfo Suárez, aiming to highlight the role of clinics and professionals in promoting healthy habits.
