The home-delivered meal service in San Sebastián de los Reyes is entering a new phase following the approval of a contract worth over 406,000 euros annually. This initiative aims to improve the service's quality and extend its reach to individuals who face difficulties with basic daily activities due to various circumstances.
Previously, the service was primarily directed at individuals over 65 years old. However, with this new contract, the City Council is broadening the coverage to include other vulnerable groups requiring daily support.
The enhanced service will enable access to home-delivered meals for people with disabilities, those suffering from chronic illnesses, users of the social inclusion program, and families in vulnerable situations, among other profiles. This expansion addresses the need to adapt the social resource to the current reality of San Sebastián de los Reyes, ensuring adequate and continuous nutrition for those in need.
Furthermore, the contract includes the preparation of various types of adapted diets, tailored to users' nutritional needs and specific health conditions or pathologies. Balanced and varied menus will be offered to meet different dietary requirements, aiming to individually address users' needs and contribute to their daily well-being.
Among the notable innovations is the implementation of an online management application. This technological tool will allow for greater service control by responsible professionals and provide users, family members, and caregivers with access to information regarding menus, delivery, and billing, thereby streamlining service monitoring.
By approving this contract, the San Sebastián de los Reyes City Council is updating one of its key social care resources, adapting it to the contemporary needs of the beneficiary population and optimizing management through technological tools.
