The Community of Madrid's network of Digital Training Centers (CCD) has provided in-person training in digital skills to 2,883 people over the past seven months, as part of the Digitaliza Madrid project. These centers, offering free workshops, have hosted 549 courses during this period.
The most in-demand workshops have been those related to the digital certificate and electronic signature, followed by introductions to artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and design using Canva. Basic mobile phone usage has also been a popular course, alongside others on digital public services, 3D printing, mobile photography and video, online job searching, and cybersecurity.
San Sebastián de los Reyes and Colmenar Viejo have fixed classrooms within this network, which is complemented by three mobile classrooms to reach rural areas and groups facing greater obstacles in accessing technology. The network is equipped with 12 computer workstations, an interactive whiteboard, virtual reality headsets, robotics kits, and a 3D printer, representing an investment of nearly one million euros funded by European Next Generation funds.
The Digitaliza Madrid Innovation Center, inaugurated in October, coordinates this network. The Minister of Digitalization, Miguel López-Valverde, explained that the centers operate as a unified network. The project focuses on training and certifying citizens, facilitating hands-on technology experimentation, and supporting residents through the digitalization process, with training offerings adapted to each municipality's needs.
