The Community of Madrid has delivered 81 affordable rental homes in Colmenar Viejo, bringing the total number of Plan Vive homes in the region to over 5,200, focusing on young people and families.

The Plan Vive of the Community of Madrid has reached a new milestone with the delivery of 81 affordable rental homes in the municipality of Colmenar Viejo. This development brings the total number of homes delivered across the region to over 5,200, strengthening the regional strategy to expand public housing through collaboration with the private sector. The initiative aims to facilitate access to housing for young people and families in modern, well-connected environments.
The Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo, visited the recently completed urbanization on Cristóbal Colón Avenue, in the Las Adelfillas neighborhood. During his tour, Rodrigo highlighted the importance of this project in meeting the demand for decent housing at a reasonable price. With these new units, Plan Vive now accounts for 363 properties in Colmenar Viejo, positioning the town as a strategic point for housing growth in the northern area of Madrid.
The newly inaugurated residential offering includes 23 one-bedroom apartments, 52 two-bedroom apartments, and 6 three-bedroom apartments, all with private terraces. The complex, designed under an “active community” concept, integrates services such as a gym, swimming pool with solarium, multi-sport court, and extensive common recreational areas. These features aim to improve the quality of life for tenants, facilitating work-life balance and leisure without the need for travel.

A significant technical aspect is the use of industrialized building techniques, which reduce delivery times and minimize environmental impact. This method ensures high energy efficiency standards, resulting in direct savings on utility bills for families, a crucial added value in the current context of energy costs and climate sensitivity.
The delivery in Colmenar Viejo brings Plan Vive closer to its ambitious goal of exceeding 14,000 affordable rental apartments in the current Legislature. The regional administration relies on public-private collaboration, a model that makes public land available to private companies for the construction and management of rentals at regulated prices. Jorge Rodrigo emphasized that Plan Vive is an effective tool to increase regional supply, allowing monthly rents to be accessible to groups who, despite having income, are excluded from the free market due to prohibitive prices.
