The Colmenar Viejo City Council has opened the application period for grants aimed at the municipality's sports clubs and entities, offering a total of €335,000 with updated assessment criteria.

Sports clubs and associations in Colmenar Viejo can apply for these grants from July 1 to July 30, 2026. The call for applications has a total budget of €335,000, divided into two funding lines to cover operating expenses, participation in competitions, and the organization of sports events of municipal interest.
The subsidies will apply to programs and activities for the 2025/2026 season. The first line, with €320,000, is for sports schools and participation in federated or non-federated activities. The second line, with €15,000, supports the organization of municipal sports events deemed of interest to the municipality, considering their sporting, social impact, local roots, or economic return.
The call introduces significant modifications compared to previous editions, particularly in the first line. The maximum score for free programs or scholarships has been raised (up to 35 points), and the minimum number of paying members required has increased to 30. The definition of 'Other expenses related to the subsidized sports activity' has also been expanded to include expenses for club-owned vehicles, repairs to municipal sports facilities, and the acquisition of sports equipment, in addition to previous rental and collective transport costs.
Further changes include an increased score for the documentary justification of employment relationships with club staff (teachers, health personnel, maintenance). In the second line, the assessment based on the event's popular relevance has been removed to avoid overlap with other criteria.

"Sports clubs and associations play a fundamental role in promoting sports in our municipality. This work requires human, sporting, and technical effort, for which these grants are a basic support instrument."
