The Municipal Summer Pool of Colmenar Viejo will open its doors on June 12 and operate until September 12, offering facility improvements and advance ticket sales.

The municipal sports facilities in Colmenar Viejo are preparing to welcome swimmers starting June 12, marking the beginning of the summer season which will last until September 12. Preparations at the venue, located on Avenida de los Remedios, are in their final stages, anticipating a new campaign with features such as online ticket sales and an associated cultural program called Bibliopiscina.
The opening coincides with the completion of various maintenance and renovation works. These actions, aimed at optimizing the facility's operation and accessibility, have included upgrades to the infirmary, changing rooms, and ticket offices. Additionally, pumps and water meters have been replaced, transit areas between pools have been improved, the purification system for the children's pool has been optimized, and adapted restrooms and elements in the play areas have been repaired. The total investment for these improvements amounts to 58,457.82 euros.
The swimming season will be divided into three periods with specific hours. From June 12 to July 31, the pool will be open from 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM. Between August 1 and August 15, the hours will be adjusted from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Finally, from August 16 to September 12, the facilities will close at 8:30 PM.
Regarding pricing, weekday entrance fees will be 2.50 euros for adults and 1 euro for minors. On weekends and holidays, tickets will cost 3.50 euros for adults and 2 euros for children. There are also options for multi-visit passes and season tickets: a ten-swim pass will cost 18 euros for adults and 8 euros for minors, while the season pass is set at 60 euros for adults and 15 euros for children.
The City Council has established discounts for various groups. Seniors over 65 will receive a 50% reduction, and large or single-parent families will get a 30% discount. Holders of the Municipal Sports Card will benefit from a 10% discount. Access will be free for individuals with a disability of 33% or higher (and their companions) and for those referred by Social Services. All discounts will require documentary proof and cannot be combined.
Ticket purchases will be facilitated through online sales, which will begin on June 12 at 10:00 AM via the municipal website. 70% of the capacity will be reserved for advance online sales, with the remaining 30% allocated to the ticket office and users with passes or season tickets. Online purchases will be available until 10:00 AM each day.
The Bibliopiscina initiative returns to promote reading among users. The program includes book lending, a reading area, storytelling, craft workshops, literature-themed games, creative writing activities, and digital projects.
