Colmenar Viejo is set for a weekend of culture and leisure with a diverse program including the Shepherding Days, the Artisan Cheese Fair, activities for Children's Day, and the start of the Youth Theater Showcase, offering proposals for all audiences.

The tenth edition of the Shepherding Days will take place in the Plaza de Toros. Saturday will begin with the transhumance of a goat herd from the Dehesa de Navalvillar to this location, where it will remain throughout the day. Simultaneously, the esplanade will host the Artisan Cheese Fair, bringing together 20 producers from various autonomous communities such as Madrid, Asturias, Cantabria, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, and Castilla y León.
Throughout the event, activities for all ages have been organized, including traditional wooden games and creative workshops focused on wool. At midday, attendees can enjoy a free tasting of shepherd's migas, all enlivened with music by a DJ.
El Mirador Park will be the setting for Children's Day on Saturday morning, with a family program organized by the Youth House. Proposals include play zones with challenges and prizes, fairground games, obstacle courses, participatory activities, large-format games, an inflatable kart circuit, storytelling, and tombolas, all free of charge.
The municipal Auditorium will offer two stage performances. On Saturday, Giacomo Puccini's opera Madama Butterfly will be performed by the Camerata Lírica de España under the direction of Rodolfo Albero. On Sunday, families can enjoy the children's theater play Ragnarök, based on Norse mythology and conveying a message about sustainability.
The sixth edition of the Colmenar Viejo Youth Theater Showcase will begin this weekend at the Youth House. On Friday, A Midsummer Night's Dream, an adaptation of William Shakespeare's work by the Santillana Teatro company, will be presented. On Saturday, the Junior company will offer Primera vez, a free adaptation exploring adolescent experiences. All performances are free with prior ticket collection.
Sunday's agenda is completed with the Classic Times gathering on the esplanade of the Plaza de Toros, featuring cars and motorcycles over 25 years old. Simultaneously, the El Vivero Park car park will host the Neighborhood Flea Market, a second-hand market for individuals, with restrictions such as the prohibition of food and animal sales.
