The Tres Cantos City Council launched an intensive cleaning and pruning campaign in parks, forest areas, and urban plots starting in April, aiming to minimize fire risk with the arrival of summer heat.
Municipal services in Tres Cantos have intensified clearing efforts in various areas, including parks, municipal plots, and sidewalks. This initiative seeks not only to improve urban aesthetics but also to act preventively against fires, especially with the approaching high summer temperatures.
“
"These actions have an important preventive component in terms of safety and environmental protection, in addition to contributing to an optimal and well-maintained image of the city, achieving perfect integration with the natural environment."
Among the most notable interventions is the clearing of the Parque Este Sports Plot, where specialized forestry machinery has been used. Additionally, municipal workers have carried out pruning and tree health maintenance in the vicinity of Soto de Viñuelas, Parque Sur, and Parque Central, natural spaces frequently visited by residents.
“
"This work is fundamental not only to ensure the correct maintenance of the city but also to act preventively against the risk of fires, especially with the upcoming arrival of high summer temperatures."
Soon, the council will begin cleaning the Bodonal stream to improve its conservation status and ensure the balance of the fluvial ecosystem. Furthermore, urban plot owners have been reminded that they have until June 1, 2026, to clear their land, in accordance with municipal ordinances and the Community of Madrid's INFOMA Plan, to prevent fire risks.
