A serious accident occurred this morning in the Community of Madrid, specifically on the interchange from the A-3 to the M-45 interior. A truck driver was seriously injured following the vehicle's overturn.
The incident happened when the truck, while taking a curve, left the roadway and overturned to the left side. As a consequence of the impact, the driver became trapped by the head between the cabin's window and a guardrail.
Madrid City Council firefighters took approximately an hour and a half to free the driver. The rescue efforts were complex and required the removal of part of the guardrail and the upper section of the truck.
Once extricated, the injured man was transferred to a hospital in serious condition. He presented with a traumatic brain injury and an open fracture of the left humerus, according to information from Emergencias Madrid.
