Algete Celebrates Virgen de las Flores Festivities Until June 1st

The Madrid municipality of Algete has commenced its festivities in honor of the Virgen de las Flores, a program extending until June 1st that blends religious tradition with entertainment.

From May 22nd to June 1st, residents of Algete will enjoy a packed schedule of events. The festive week begins with a novena in honor of the Virgen de las Flores, held daily at 7:30 PM in the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, thus reinforcing the religious aspect of the celebrations.
Leisure takes center stage on Saturday, May 23rd, with the Sonora Fest, a music festival taking place at the Covered Court of the Sports Center from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, ensuring fun regardless of the weather.
The youngest attendees will have outdoor children's workshops in the Plaza de la Constitución on Monday, May 25th, and Wednesday, May 27th, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, encouraging family participation in the heart of the town.
Friday, May 29th, presents a busy agenda: the day starts with a floral offering at 8:00 PM in the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. Subsequently, at 8:30 PM, the Plaza de la Constitución will host an Urban Dance performance by the Municipal School of Music and Dance (EMMD). The night will conclude at 11:00 PM with a performance by the Orquesta La Mundial in the same square.
Saturday, May 30th, is shaping up to be the main day. It includes an inflatable playground (10:00 AM-2:00 PM and 4:00 PM-7:00 PM), activities at the Youth Center (10:00 AM-11:00 AM and 4:00 PM-5:00 PM), and an afternoon event with 'Recalculando' as part of the Artisanal Flavors Market at 12:30 PM in the Plaza de la Constitución. In the afternoon, the 'El Arenal' Bullring will host the traditional release of heifers at 6:00 PM, followed by a mass and the Salve at the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. The night will end with the Orquesta Evasión at 11:30 PM in the Plaza de la Constitución.
Sunday, May 31st, will be marked by religious and community events, starting with the main mass at 12:00 PM in the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. At 1:00 PM, the EMMD's 'Combo' will offer an afternoon performance in the Plaza de la Constitución. The highlight of the day will be the procession of Nuestra Señora de la Virgen de las Flores at 8:00 PM, parading through the town's streets.
The festivities will conclude on Monday, June 1st, with a solemn mass for deceased sisters at 7:30 PM in the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, bringing to an end a week of celebration and community in Algete.
