The municipal program 'Los Veranos de Alcobendas' for 2026 returns with an expanded offer, including 2,000 places in urban camps, new nautical camps, and a varied cultural agenda that will fill the city with activities from June to September.

Families in Alcobendas will have more options this summer for work-life balance during July and August. The City Council has increased urban camp places by 200 compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 2,000 for children aged 4 to 11. Adding the 411 camp places and over 1,900 sports campus and activity places, the total offer for children, adolescents, and youth approaches 3,000 places.
The camps will operate in fortnightly periods, from July 1st to August 31st, in six public schools across the city. Participants will enjoy pool outings, cinema, creative workshops, games, and activities adapted to each age group. Furthermore, places for families with special needs have been expanded, meeting the demand from municipal Social Services.

"The pre-registration and lottery system, successfully implemented last year, is maintained to ensure that all families have equal access opportunities, given the high demand for the program."

One of the main novelties of this edition is the incorporation of a Nautical Camp in Oliva, designed for teenagers aged 13 to 15, which will take place during August. In this privileged natural environment, young people will be able to practice dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and paddle surfing. This is the first time that August has been integrated into the municipality's camp offerings.
The sports program includes over 1,900 places across nearly seventy different courses, running from June 28th to August 8th at the José Caballero Sports Center and the Valdelasfuentes Sports City. The wide and varied offer includes sports campuses, rhythmic gymnastics, hockey, fencing, futsal, triathlon, basketball, modern dance, tennis, paddle tennis, swimming courses for all levels, yoga, pilates, zumba, crossfitness, and boxfitness. Many activities include a mealtime option to facilitate family reconciliation.
The municipal program also includes other proposals for children and young people during the summer. Imagina has organized creative workshops in performing arts and urban dance, as well as Summer Schools of Art, Circus, and Nature. A notable new addition this year is the Pre-Monitor Course, aimed at young people aged 14 to 17. For residents aged 18 to 30, one of the most attractive activities is the Youth Trip to the Camino de Santiago, which will take place from July 5th to 11th. Additionally, all registered residents of Alcobendas will have special price days, called Open Days, to access theme parks such as Parque de Atracciones, Faunia, Aquopolis, Atlantis, and Parque Warner.
Older residents are also included with proposals such as grandparent and grandchild camps, workshops, summer walks, and music activities from the 70s. For reconciliation on dates when schools are closed but camps have not yet begun, the Non-Holiday Work-Life Balance program will offer leisure activities at CEIP Valdepalitos for younger children.
Culture will play a significant role with the new Open Sky Festival, a series of outdoor activities featuring music, dance, cinema, and shows that will tour the city's squares and public spaces during June, July, and August. This is complemented by traditional events such as the Night of San Juan, the Municipal Band concert, Summer Cinema, Alcobendas Danza, the Puppet Show, Alcotaku, Fotonoche, and the Magic Gala. The cultural program will extend until September with the Circus Festival, closing a season full of activities for all tastes and ages.
