Under the slogan Back to the Roots, the festival will bring together 23 artists from Spanish urban music to vindicate its mixed and iconoclastic character. The program includes performances by prominent figures such as El Chojin, who will open the cycle with an intimate concert accompanied by his DJ.
On October 31, MUF will present a double concert featuring Elio Toffana, known for his sound that blends classic and contemporary, and Andrei La Ley, a representative of the new urban music scene.
On Friday, November 6, Ambkor, a current reference in the genre, will offer a recital featuring classic tracks alongside recent releases. The following day, a special format will include DJ JAVS, Todo el Rato, and Suzete.
The performances on November 13 will be by La Reina Mora and Dirty Suc. The festival will conclude on November 14 with Hanimami and Ms Nina, who will present proposals combining their musical roots with contemporary sounds.
In addition to concerts, the Madrid Urban Fest will offer parallel activities. These include a masterclass in popping and locking, urban dances born in the 70s, taught by Venezuelan Nanox. A breakdance competition will also be held with participants such as Estrella, Karajos Skody Kikz, Tito Africa, Jimmy Twice, and Mini Joe.
The free exhibition Madrid hiphop. Origins, curated by Francisco Reyes, a graffiti veteran and professor at the UCM, will reconstruct the early years of hip-hop culture in the region and Spain from 1984. The exhibition will explore the incorporation of new forms of expression through graffiti, rap, DJs, and break dance.
