The Community of Madrid solidifies its position as the leader in attracting foreign-owned companies in Spain, surpassing 15,500 firms and accounting for 43.5% of the national total.

This was highlighted by the Minister of Economy, Finance, and Employment, Rocío Albert, during the closing of the III Madrid Investment Forum, held in Alcalá de Henares. This event, organized by the regional government over three days, aimed to showcase the region's competitive advantages to national and international investors.
Albert attributed this dominance to economic freedom, legal certainty, and incentive-based taxation, emphasizing the country's lowest personal income tax and the absence of regional taxes. "We are talking about an economy that is no longer thought of from the center outwards, but is distributed, from its origin, throughout all its municipalities," she stated.
The region also benefits from its role as a natural bridge between Europe and Hispano-America, channeling 7.863 billion euros since 2019, which represents three out of every four euros of the state total. In this context, the work of Invest in Madrid, the regional agency for attracting international projects, is crucial. This agency has achieved a return of 549 euros for each accompanied project, materializing 77 initiatives in 2025 that mobilized 1.099 billion euros and created over 2,000 jobs.
The final day of the forum included sessions in Villaconejos focusing on rural and tourism development and the application of Artificial Intelligence in agriculture. Later, in Alcalá de Henares, a panel on entrepreneurship was held, and investment awards were presented.
Throughout the three days, the forum visited the capital, Valdemoro, Tres Cantos, Villanueva de la Cañada, Villaconejos, and Alcalá de Henares. Six regional government councilors participated, and discussions covered topics such as Digitalization, Defense, Health Innovation, Housing, Logistics, and the reconstruction of the Sierra Oeste, among others.
