The Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Science (IETcc-CSIC) hosted the international meeting of the Inter-jurisdictional Regulatory Collaboration Committee (IRCC) in Madrid from October 13th to 15th, a key forum for knowledge exchange on regulation, safety, and sustainability in the building sector.

Over three intensive days, the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Science (IETcc-CSIC) brought together representatives from regulatory bodies, public administrations, research centers, and experts from Europe, America, and Asia in Madrid. The meeting addressed relevant challenges for the built environment, including adaptation of buildings to flood risk, implementation of sustainability and decarbonization policies, challenges of the energy transition, fire safety, and the renovation of the building stock.
In addition to technical sessions, the meeting served to strengthen collaboration networks among institutions responsible for building regulation and performance, consolidating the IETcc as a meeting point.
The high participation, quality of contributions, and open nature of the debates facilitated the generation of new collaboration opportunities and progress towards a shared vision on the future challenges of the construction sector.
