The Sorolla Museum, part of the Ministry of Culture, will officially inaugurate the expansion of the painter's house in Madrid on October 14. The new space will be available to visitors starting the next day, Thursday, October 15.
The design for this expansion was conceived by the studio Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos. The new space is located in the building adjacent to the original house museum and has an independent entrance on Zurbano street.
This extension of the historic property has been planned as a continuation of the original building. The expansion provides the museum with new halls for temporary exhibitions and an auditorium. Additionally, it incorporates other areas and essential services for the treatment, storage, and management of the museum's collections.
In parallel, renovation work on the historic building, which is currently closed to the public, continues. These efforts aim to improve the building's accessibility and update its facilities.
