The Group of Specialists on Vulnerabilities and Poverty in Transport, promoted by ECODES, has released the document Towards the future State Strategy against Transport Poverty. This report contains a series of proposals directed at the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, with the aim of collaborating in the design of the future strategy's Action Plan.
Research from the giSCHE of IETcc-CSIC, through doctor architect Alicia Gómez Nieto, has been fundamental in the report's development. Gómez Nieto, a member of PTI Mobility CSIC and the Group of Specialists, participated in the MOMENTUM project, focused on data science and urban digital twins for emission control, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
This scientific collaboration strengthens the transfer of knowledge towards public policies. The perspective of research on mobility, social vulnerability, urban data science, and ecosocial transition is thus integrated into the debate on the future State Strategy against Transport Poverty.
