The proposal, spearheaded by Enrique Riquelme, a candidate for the club's presidency, aims to revolutionize the currently undeveloped land in Valdebebas. The flagship project envisions a 'City for the Member' with new sports and leisure facilities, restaurants, and a large arena designed to host various events, including concerts, with the goal of maximizing the profitability of these spaces.
"Real Madrid's basketball team needs its own Arena, which can also host all kinds of events, including concerts. Yes, we don't want to bother anyone with that," stated Riquelme during the presentation of his plan, which he describes as "the greatest transformation for the member and by the member in the history of Real Madrid."
The plan also includes a Club House with a capacity for 3,500 people, an auditorium seating 1,500, and an open-air 'Madridista Agora' with giant screens, capable of hosting up to 10,000 attendees for various events.
This project would be developed on an extensive 85-hectare plot that Real Madrid acquired from the City Council following the relocation of its former sports city. It is worth noting that Florentino Pérez had previously announced plans to build a technological campus in the same area, provisionally named 'Madrid Innovation District', which had the support of Mayor Almeida and President Ayuso. The City Council had approved the necessary rezoning of the land, which is currently designated for sports use.
