Two men have been arrested in Madrid for attempting to send 5,000 MDMA pills and ketamine abroad, concealed within a toy, in an operation that resulted in their imprisonment.

The investigation, conducted by agents of the National Police, began on August 22, 2025, after a suspicious package was detected at a parcel delivery company. Inside, among toy parts, 5,000 MDMA pills and approximately 800 grams of a powdery substance, identified as ketamine and MDMA, were found, with an estimated value of 80,000 euros on the illicit market.
The shipment raised suspicions from the outset, as the individual processing it did not provide a purchase invoice, refused content inspection claiming they were collector's items, used false sender details, and paid in cash to avoid being linked to the package.
Police inquiries allowed for the reconstruction of the plan and the determination of roles among those involved. One of the detainees purchased the toy at a shopping center in Madrid days before the shipment, paying over 600 euros in cash, while the other was responsible for taking the package to the parcel company.
The investigation also identified a third individual as the mastermind behind the operation, who was already in prison for another large-scale drug trafficking case.
On March 18, agents carried out searches and arrests at the homes of the two individuals, who were detained as alleged perpetrators of a public health offense. Subsequently, they were brought before a judge, who ordered their imprisonment.
