This Holy Saturday, the procession of La Soledad will fill the streets of central Madrid with a route culminating in the emotional encounter with the Recumbent Christ in Plaza de la Villa, attracting both devotees and visitors.

Holy Week in Madrid is experienced with great intensity, transforming the capital into a setting of tradition and devotion. Dozens of processions parade through its streets, offering residents and tourists a unique cultural experience. Holy Saturday is highlighted by the procession of La Soledad, organized by the Real e Ilustre Congregación de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad y Desamparo.
The procession is scheduled to depart at 4:00 PM from the Iglesia de la Concepción Real de Calatrava, located at Calle Alcalá, 25. The brotherhood members will wear a black habit with a matching cowl, while the entourage of the Virgin will feature a white cape, cincture, and gloves. The Christ float will be accompanied by a black tunic and cowl.
The route of the La Soledad procession will pass through emblematic locations such as Calle Alcalá, Puerta del Sol, and Calle Mayor. One of the most anticipated moments is the encounter with the image of the Recumbent Christ, scheduled for approximately 6:30 PM in Plaza de la Villa. This act is considered one of the most emotional and significant of Madrid's Holy Week, symbolizing the Virgin's solitude after the crucifixion.
The musical accompaniment will vary along the route; the Christ's procession will traditionally be silent, while the Virgin of Solitude will have a band. Due to the procession, traffic restrictions are expected in central Madrid streets, including Alcalá, Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Plaza de la Villa, and Carrera de San Jerónimo, as well as adjacent roads along the route.
