The Community of Madrid is launching a practical course for young people focused on using sport and physical activity as tools for emotional well-being and social cohesion.

The registration period will soon open for a course designed to train participants in using sport and physical activity as educational tools. The aim is to foster emotional well-being, mental health, and social cohesion among young people, promoting healthy habits, inclusion, and prevention of risky behaviors.
The course, which will take place from October 5 to 26, 2026, will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Espacio Joven 14-30. The methodology will be active, practical, and experiential, combining sports dynamics, real case analysis, and proposal design.
The training will cover topics such as active leisure in non-formal education, physical activity and mental health, the emotional and social benefits of sport, and its role as a tool for inclusion. It will also address the design of educational sports activities and the prevention of risky behaviors.

"Sport and physical activity have great value in educational leisure, not only for their physical benefits but also for their impact on mental health, socialization, and emotional well-being."

Course rationale
It is aimed at youth and free-time leaders and pre-leaders, socio-cultural animators, educators, youth technicians, municipal staff, and individuals interested in promoting health through educational leisure and those linked to sports projects or youth associations. Registration requirements include submitting an application form and a potential selection based on criteria such as age (between 18 and 35 years), profile suitability, and motivation.
