Madrid Metro Reinforces Service for University Entrance Exams: Over 42,000 Students to Take PAU

The Community of Madrid is increasing service on lines 6 and 12 by up to 23% to facilitate access to university campuses during the entrance tests.

More than 42,000 students will sit for the University Entrance Exam (PAU) in the Community of Madrid starting next Monday, prompting a reinforcement of Metro services.

A total of 42,047 students from the Community of Madrid will take the University Entrance Exam (PAU) starting next Monday, June 1st, through Thursday, June 4th, at the public universities in Madrid. Friday, June 5th, will be reserved for resolving incidents.
The Complutense University of Madrid will host the largest number of applicants (13,424), followed by the Autonomous University (10,341), the Carlos III University (6,348), the University of Alcalá (5,595), the Rey Juan Carlos University (4,510), and the Polytechnic University of Madrid (1,829).
The exam schedule will run from Monday to Thursday, covering subjects such as Spanish Language and Literature II, History of Philosophy, First Foreign Language, and History of Spain, in addition to elective and specialization subjects. Tests will be conducted in three time slots: 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, and 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
To facilitate student mobility, the Community of Madrid has implemented a special plan that includes reinforcing Metro lines 6 and 12. Service will increase by up to 23% at stations with direct access to university campuses, particularly during peak morning (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM) and afternoon (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM) hours.
This special transport initiative will be complemented by increased staffing and security at key stations to optimize passenger flow and ensure efficient and safe service throughout the examination days.
On line 6, the reinforcement will be noticeable at stations such as Ciudad Universitaria, Cuatro Caminos, Guzmán el Bueno, Príncipe Pío, Argüelles, and Moncloa. On line 12 (MetroSur), stations benefiting from the increase include Hospital de Fuenlabrada, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Getafe Central, and Leganés Central, among others.
