The Real Casa de Correos, seat of the regional executive in Madrid, displayed blue, red, and white lights this Saturday to mark the 250th anniversary of United States independence.

The special lighting of the institutional facade highlights the diplomatic and cultural ties between the two regions. The regional administration had previously announced the awarding of the International Medal of the Community of Madrid to the nation, acknowledging its global role.
The influence of the United States on the capital is also reflected in travel statistics. During the first quarter of 2026, the region welcomed 244,553 travelers from the country, representing 11.3% of all international tourism recorded during that period.
This visitor flow saw a 5.3% increase compared to the previous year's figures. Furthermore, according to data from the National Statistics Institute, the region currently has a resident population of U.S. origin exceeding 16,000 people.
