Dutch cyclist Mika Vijvinkel (GD Súper Froiz) has taken victory in the second stage of the Vuelta a Madrid U23, held in Alcalá de Henares, winning a tight final sprint.

The finish line was set up on Calle Colegios, next to Plaza de Cervantes, where Vijvinkel, wearing the leader's red jersey, repeated his previous day's triumph. The stage was marked by intense heat and a mass finish that saw the leader overtake Spaniards Aimar Galdós (BBK Euskadi) and Luca Martínez (Selección Española júnior).
The route for the second stage covered 134 kilometers, divided into a double circuit that included climbs to Villalbilla and Loranca. Additionally, intermediate sprints were contested passing through Nuevo Baztán.
From the early stages of the race, three riders took prominence in the breakaway: Joaquín Medina (Telco ON Clima Osés), the mountain classification leader Cornee Vanslembrouck (Dovy Keukens), and Loewis Bockstaele (Supermercados Froiz).
The Madrid cycling race for the under-23 category arrived in Alcalá de Henares last Wednesday.
