This Sunday, September 13th, the Plaza de la Estación in Collado Villalba will host the 'La Despensa de Madrid' Traveling Market, an initiative by the Community of Madrid to showcase and encourage the consumption of local food products.

The market, organized by the General Directorate of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food of the Community of Madrid with the collaboration of the City Council, aims to bring Madrid's agri-food products closer to consumers and introduce the 'M Producto Certificado' quality brand to a wider audience, guaranteeing the origin and quality of products produced and processed in the region.
A total of 20 stalls will feature the region's best agri-food offerings, including olive oil, olives, smoked products, fresh meat, beer, chocolate, preserves, cured meats, pies, fruits and vegetables, nuts, legumes, liquors, honey, bread, pastries, cheeses, vermouth, and wines. Organic production will also be significantly represented.
According to the event organizers, 'those who purchase local products contribute to revitalizing the economy of Madrid's rural areas and generating sustainable jobs, participating in the boost for rural development'.
The market travels to different municipalities within the Community of Madrid every weekend during the summer. Twenty editions are planned, held on Saturdays or Sundays, from May until the end of October 2026.
The 'La Despensa de Madrid' stop in Collado Villalba will take place on Sunday, September 13th, at the Plaza de la Estación, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with free admission.
