Mayor Fernando Romo and Education Councilor Cristina Expósito visited the CEIP Virgen de Valderrabé on the first day of class. They accompanied students and teachers, wishing them a successful academic year 2026-2027. During the visit, new agendas were handed out to help students organize their tasks and activities throughout the year.
The mayor and councilor also took the opportunity to welcome Juan Ignacio Gómez, the new director of CEIP Virgen de Valderrabé, extending their best wishes for his tenure leading the educational center.
The new academic term is also accompanied by a significant improvement plan for Algete's public schools. The City Council has allocated an initial investment of 100,000 euros per school. These actions focus on enhancing facilities and overall well-being, notably including the installation of air conditioning in classrooms, a highly requested measure to combat summer heat.
Further planned improvements include the installation of awnings and shades, the replacement of windows and doors, and various upgrades to sports facilities. The municipal projection is for this first phase of works to be completed before December 31, 2026.
Additionally, a second investment phase of another 100,000 euros per school is planned to continue modernizing public educational centers in Algete and address new facility needs. These initiatives underscore the municipal government's commitment to public education and the creation of learning environments that are more comfortable, secure, and adapted to the needs of the entire educational community.
