The city of Madrid is preparing to welcome a new edition of the Mercadillo del Gato, which will be held at the prestigious Hotel Palace from May 28 to 31. This event, reinforcing its formula of a wide selection, strategic location, and direct shopping experience, has established itself as an unmissable date in the capital.
Strategically located next to the cultural axis formed by the Prado Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza, CaixaForum, and the Congress of Deputies, the hotel becomes a natural meeting point between leisure and shopping. Its location makes a visit to the market a logical extension of any plan in the city center.
More than 50 brands will participate in this edition, presenting proposals in women's, men's, and children's fashion, jewelry, accessories, cosmetics, decoration, art, silk painting, floral design, and diverse crafts. The mix of emerging brands and regular names, who know the attending audience well, is one of its strengths.
The format of the Mercadillo del Gato is conceived more as a journey than a mass fair, inviting visitors to explore, observe, and decide calmly. After more than 100 editions and an accumulated attendance of 3.5 million visitors, the event demonstrates its relevance without needing major reinventions. Each gathering attracts between 20,000 and 24,000 attendees, solidifying it as a benchmark in Spain.
The event will take place at the Hotel Palace, with access via Plaza Cánovas del Castillo. It will be open from May 28 to 31, with continuous hours from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and free admission.
The Mercadillo del Gato is recognized as one of the leading pop-up events in Spain. Born in Madrid, its ephemeral nature has led it to be held in emblematic spaces, including previous events at the Hotel Palace itself and Gran Vía 13, as well as at the Hotel Carlton in Bilbao and the Hotel María Cristina in San Sebastián.
