The Department of Education, Science and Universities of the Community of Madrid has scheduled a meeting for next Thursday with representatives of public nursery schools, who have been on an indefinite strike for a month.

The meeting aims to resolve the labor dispute that began on April 7. Professionals in the sector are demanding salary increases, a reduction in current classroom ratios, and the inclusion of an educational partner to ensure teaching quality.
Regional authorities have indicated that they have been in contact with various social agents, unions, and municipalities over the past few weeks. The goal has been to analyze the demands and review existing contracts, as well as to launch new public tenders that include better economic conditions.

"We hope that the Department presents concrete proposals that allow for the improvement of our working conditions in the short and long term."

The announcement of the meeting coincides with the parliamentary debate in the Madrid Assembly regarding the educational management model. While opposition groups have questioned the outsourcing of services, the regional government defends its management and the search for solutions to stabilize the 0-3 year-old center network.
