The Community of Madrid will receive 2,770,214 euros from the central government to fund drug control programs, as part of the National Drug Plan.

The Council of Ministers has authorized the distribution of a total of 21,281,080 euros nationwide. These funds, to be managed by the autonomous communities and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, aim to ensure continuity in addiction intervention strategies across the country.
The technical criteria for allocation, approved on May 20, 2026, include de facto population, population dispersion, support for coordination structures, and data such as treatment admissions or mortality rates over the past five years. The agreement highlights the collaboration between the Ministry of Health and regional administrations.
The funds are divided into five key areas: Prevention (4.67 million euros), Rehabilitation and Reintegration (1.47 million euros) for individuals with legal-penal issues, the Spanish Observatory on Drugs and Addictions (1.66 million euros) for data analysis, National Strategy Development (3.86 million euros) for general expenses, and the Application of Law 17/2003 (9.6 million euros) for activities involving confiscated assets.
From the total allocation, the Community of Madrid will receive 722,863 euros for prevention, 196,643 euros for rehabilitation, 151,752 euros for the observatory, 675,703 euros for strategy development, and 1,023,251 euros for law application.
