Madrid's Deputy Mayor, Inma Sanz, has confirmed that the city is ready for Pope Leo XIV's visit in June, with a logistical plan that includes giant screens in Cibeles Square and its surroundings to accommodate hundreds of thousands of attendees.

The Delegate for Security and Emergencies of the Madrid City Council, Inma Sanz, stated that the organization for Pope Leo XIV's visit to the capital in early June has been "perfectly studied." Plans include installing screens not only in Cibeles Square itself but also throughout its vicinity, extending from the Paseo del Prado to the streets leading towards the Gran Vía and Alcalá axes.
Although the Pontiff's official agenda has not yet been released, Leo XIV announced his presence in Cibeles in a message sent to participants of the IV Resurrection Festival, held last Saturday to celebrate Easter.

There was much anticipation; many years have passed since a Pontiff visited the city of Madrid.

The Deputy Mayor acknowledged the "enormous logistical challenge" posed by the expected attendance of "many, hundreds of thousands of people at various events," but expressed her "absolute conviction that it will go very well." She highlighted the excitement for the visit, noting the time elapsed since the last papal visit to Madrid.
Sanz indicated that the municipal government has evaluated the "different scenarios" proposed by the organizers, reaffirming that the city will welcome Leo XIV "as he deserves." The Pope has confirmed that he will hold an event in Cibeles Square during his apostolic journey to Spain, specifically inviting young people to meet him there next June.

"While we await our meeting in Cibeles, I ask you: do not let the present pass you by; pray, truly seek Christ; do not settle for the minimum, because life, with Christ, is worth living."

In his message, the Pope urged young people to live in the present, to pray, and to seek Christ, assuring them of his prayers and his anticipation of seeing them at the Cibeles gathering.
