The Community of Madrid has launched a new edition of its 'Vacaciones en Familia' program, inviting residents to temporarily host children in care during holiday periods.

This initiative, now in its nineteenth year, aims to give children and adolescents aged 7 to 17, residing in the region's protection centers, the chance to enjoy the summer with a host family. Stays can range from fifteen days to a month and a half, with participation open from July 1st to September 15th.
Managed by the Directorate General for Childhood, Family, and Birth Rate Promotion since 2008, the program has been very well-received. Both participating families, center staff, and the minors themselves have reported highly positive experiences. Last year, 74 children and young people from 19 centers across the region took part.
Individuals interested in participating in 'Vacaciones en Familia' must be over 25 years old and can be married couples, partners, or single individuals. They will need to pass a selection process. For more information or to apply, interested parties can call 900 103 490 or email preguntas.acogimiento@madrid.org.
Applications will be accepted until June 8th. Further details regarding regulations, required documentation, and other specific requirements can be found via the link provided by the Community of Madrid.
