This call, part of the 2024-2029 Plan for the Promotion of Birth Rate and Work-Life Balance, aims to facilitate access to quality early education and support family reconciliation. Interested parties have until April 28 to submit their applications, either online through the City Council's electronic headquarters or in person at the Registry offices.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, the grant has a budget of 6.9 million euros, representing an increase of 1.8 million compared to the previous year. This increase aims to reach a greater number of beneficiaries, doubling the grant's initial budget since its creation in the 2019-2020 academic year, when it was 3.3 million euros.
The monthly amounts of the grant range from 118, 220, or 385 euros, depending on family income. To be eligible, the per capita monthly income of the applicant family unit must not exceed 30,000 euros. The grants are compatible with other public or private subsidies, provided the total cost of the service is not exceeded.
The grant tiers for the 2026-2027 call are distributed as follows: Tier 1 offers 4,235 euros annually (385 euros/month) for per capita incomes between 0 and 10,420 euros; Tier 2, 2,420 euros annually (220 euros/month) for incomes between 10,420 and 17,020 euros; and Tier 3, 1,298 euros annually (118 euros/month) for incomes between 17,020 and 30,000 euros. These amounts will be paid between September 2026 and July 2027.
Among the main requirements, the child must have been born in 2024, 2025, or 2026 (or have an expected birth before January 1, 2027), be enrolled or have a reserved place in an authorized private center in the municipality of Madrid, and the family must have been registered in the municipality of Madrid continuously for at least two years prior to the publication of the call.
For the second consecutive year, the grant payment will be made bi-monthly and in advance, instead of at the end of the academic year. This measure, implemented by the City Council, seeks to alleviate the financial burden on families by preventing them from having to front the full costs of tuition and monthly fees. A collaborating entity will be responsible for reviewing documents and paying the justified amounts.
