The project, titled 'Madrid, University Region,' was presented at the University of Alcalá. Its pillars include reinforcing Spanish as a global asset, promoting new housing and residences for young people, integrating Artificial Intelligence into the academic environment, and expanding cultural and sports activities on campuses.
The presentation of this strategy took place during the inauguration of the new rector of the University of Alcalá. During the event, the crucial role of Madrid's universities as a driving force for attracting global talent was highlighted. The coordination of this plan will fall under the Ministry of Education, Science and Universities, with the involvement of all regional government ministries.
“"The region is experiencing its best moment, which is directly linked to Madrid's ability to attract thousands of students from different parts of the world each year."
This influx of international university students not only enriches the academic ecosystem but also projects Spain's image globally and consolidates a competitive environment for attracting knowledge and opportunities. Artificial Intelligence is set to be one of the central axes of the plan, aiming to position Madrid at the forefront of this field, adapting to the technological transformation shaping the future of education and the job market.
Furthermore, the regional Executive will promote a plan for student residences and housing. This measure seeks to address one of the main difficulties faced by university students, especially those who relocate and those with greater problems accessing housing, thereby facilitating the stay of national and international students in Madrid and improving their living conditions.
