The race, which maintains the same route as in 2025, will pass through iconic city landmarks. Participants will run along Preciados Street and Gran Vía before connecting with Alcalá Street and reaching Plaza de Cibeles. From there, the route includes a slight ascent along Paseo de Recoletos and Paseo de la Castellana, with a downhill turn at Plaza de Cuzco to return to Paseo de Recoletos, close to Plaza de Cibeles.
This sporting event is a favorite among Madrid runners and forms part of the commemorative activities organized by the municipal Firefighters in honor of their patron saint, San Juan de Dios. Additionally, the race serves as a heartfelt tribute to colleagues who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
The competition is divided into two categories: a popular race with approximately 2,500 registered participants and a professional firefighters' race. The latter will feature 17 teams, each comprising two to four firefighters, who will complete the 10 kilometers in relays, wearing their regulation uniforms and intervention gear. Along the route, a Firefighters tent will be set up for anyone interested in trying on the intervention suits.
The exact starting point of the race will be on Puerta del Sol Street, in front of the regional government headquarters, while the finish line will be located on Paseo de Recoletos, at the corner of Prim Street. The Deputy Mayor of Madrid and Delegate for Security and Emergencies, Inma Sanz, along with the Councilman-President of Centro, Carlos Segura, will officially start the race and present the awards to the winners.
